weather wane
It's been a while since my wings got clipped
I've been swimming around a sinking Newtown, but
the creaking rain and the cracked roof tiles,
now that I'm used to the unsteadiness I can't shake it off
A repainted ball went flying,
colors that are kind, and colors that aren't so
I couldn't catch it, it just rolled away,
I can't even find those marbles..
I don't want to be fooled.
Therefore, I must doubt everything.
I wonder if you're laughing at my muddy attitude..
I look for flowers, but the view only repeats itself
Blown by the headwind,
I close my eyes a little..
The crowd of common sense competing for the roofs,
'give me more space', and stirring up a fuss
Even if you get hit by a rock, it's water under the bridge
The kitten that couldn't purr slinks off with a whimper
It's the same as that time
The balloon you gave me;
I was startled by the ground shaking
and it slipped through my fingers
I'm always reluctant to part ways
I've always been a little hazy
about the encounters that come and go
My knickerbockers fluttered in the wind
I leaped past them,
pushing aside the hustle and bustle
and I headed for the town where you live
If there's anything missing, then I'll be sure to get it
I'll reach the place where buoyancy lies
and soar up high!
I look for flowers, but the view only repeats itself
Blown by the headwind,
swaying, swinging..
Even while flapping your clumsy wings,
you were smiling
